The Old Dairy is a beautifully converted retreat set along the driveway of Queen Bower Farm, nestled within a smallholding farmyard. While you may notice the gentle rhythm of rural life from nearby barns and stables during parts of the day, the overall atmosphere remains calm and unhurried. As evening falls, the farm becomes especially peaceful—perfect for a truly relaxing countryside escape.
Inside, The Old Dairy offers a spacious lounge/dining area, a superking bedroom (which can also be arranged as a twin), a large shower room suitable for disabled access, and a compact yet well-equipped kitchen. The kitchen includes an oven, fridge/freezer, washing machine, microwave, and ample cupboard space. Laminate wood flooring runs throughout the property for a clean, modern feel.
The bedroom features its own television and internet access, separate from the lounge. The living area opens directly onto a private courtyard garden, enclosed by a 4ft wooden fence—ideal for guests bringing a dog, as we are proudly dog-friendly.
Step outside and you’ll find yourself surrounded by countryside walks in every direction. You can wander straight from your door onto scenic tracks leading into St Martin’s Wood at Newchurch, stroll along the nearby cycle path, or explore Borthwood Copse just across the road. For those who enjoy a pub walk, a beautiful 20-minute woodland route will take you to The Pointer’s Inn.
Local amenities are conveniently close, with supermarkets and three garden centres just a 5-minute drive away, along with two local pubs.
The Old Dairy is perfect for couples seeking a peaceful retreat, as well as mother-daughter getaways or friends travelling together. There is your own private parking immediately outside the gate of the Old Dairy, so easy access via three low steps into the courtyard garden. There are NO steps at the front gate if you have limited mobility. This is accessible for disabled access.
For those looking to fully unwind, Yasmin, the owner, offers a range of treatments from her on-site log cabin therapy studio, Seven Sisters Serenities. Services include massage, Reiki, reflexology, Reiki training, and guided farm walks (available on request).
We also offer a CL site for guests travelling with caravanning friends or family.
As a family-run small business, we look forward to welcoming you and sharing our peaceful corner of the countryside.
If you’re looking to bring the whole family, Queen Bower Farm next door offers additional accommodation sleeping up to 5 guests—ideal for larger groups who still want to stay close together.
